Salvatore Ferragamo

Today I went and saw the museum of Salvatore Ferragamo. He was an Italian shoe maker who made beautiful shoes. The museum is under his store on Via de' Tornabuoni and it was really interesting. In the museum, there are all of this earlier shoes that he designed. There is a section dedicated to every color. My favorite color was the white section because there was this shoe that had these pearly sequins and then around the edge, there was a golden Venetian glass border. It was so pretty! Ferragamo made shoes for stars such as Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Sofia Loren among others. He created shoes for their feet. He did this by creating a mold made out of wood of their foot then created a shoe around that mold. Some of the molds he used are in the museum and they all look similar when you first glance at them, but when you look closer, you can see how the arch, heel, etc. differed from person to person.

Oggi sono andata a vedere il museo di scarpe di Salvatore Ferragamo. Il museo e' sotto il suo negozio su Via de' Tornabuoni. Il museo ha quasi tutte le sue scarpe originali in tanti colori. Era bello vedere tutte queste scarpe che aveva designato lui. C'erano anche delle scarpe che aveva fatto su misure per delle parsone famose come la Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Audrey Hepburn, e la Sofia Loren. Ferragamo faceva le scarpe su misura da un modelo del piede di legno. Dopo che aveva fatto il modelo, poteva fare la scarpe attorno cosi era sicuro che le andava bene. Il museo mi e' piacuto molto e spero di ritornare.
