This past week was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Jeff was in Tanzania for work and I was home alone. I was able to get quite a few things done and it was fun exploring the city. I started the week by re-exploring the downtown area. Then I headed towards Pacific Heights and the Marina neighborhoods (more by the water/Golden Gate) where I found many parks that I took my time walking through. There are quite a few parks in San Francisco and they are all gorgeous. The days that I went to the park, were days when it had rained through the night and everything was very lush and green. Luckily, as I was walking, the sun would come out and the air was warm with a cool breeze. I found many parks that I will be returning to because they are so pretty. The weather this past week was not terrible, it rained mostly at night so the mornings were cloudy but then the skies cleared up, but the evenings were the best. This was because there were amazing sunsets and I have an excellent view of sunsets from my bedroom and kitchen windows. Jeff came home Friday afternoon and we were excited to have the long weekend to putter around the city. My friend John came into the city from Stanford on Saturday and we met up with him at the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building. We got lunch in an Italian deli there with amazing sandwiches (not to worry, I took home some prosciutto!). John then had to leave, but he was still able to see the apartment and it was great spending the day with him. On Sunday, Jeff and I ran errands. He had brought me some tulips from his trip and we needed to plant them. Therefore, we headed out to Oakland/Emeryville for materials. While there, we also stopped by Michael's to pick up picture frames for pictures that we wanted to hang in the apartment. We chose pictures that I have taken over the years from various trips and took them to Costco to print. From Home Depot, we bought pots for the tulips and then came home to plant them. With the tulips planted and ready to go, the next "to-do" were the pictures. These took a little more time, but it was definitely worth it. The pictures printed great and they look great in their frames and on the walls. We still have one picture to hang (the picture of the bridge over the bed) but that should be done in the next day or two. This week, I will be meeting with some people about a job so hopefully something will work out. Also to be done is studying for my last AHLA test and going to the grocery store. The weather this week is supposed to be stormy and rainy all day, and today it is raining; hopefully I won't get too wet getting groceries! Enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful week!
