August 2 - 8, 2010 | La Vita Giulia

Well, first off, it's already August! Holy smokes, where has the year gone?! It seems as though yesterday Jeff and I were moving into our apartment in San Francisco. My parents came and kept me company this week here in San Francisco. We had so much fun exploring the city together. Since I was off on Tuesday and Wednesday, we had some busy days. On Tuesday, we headed to Sonoma and Napa and visited a few vineyards and wineries. My mom and I tasted the wines while my dad watched and smelled them. We picked up some tasty cheese from one of the places we stopped at (Viansa). It's a type of dry jack cheese. It tastes almost like parmesan but the rind is edible and has cocoa powder on it. It is super delicious!

Beh, non credo che e' gia' agosto. Mi sembra ieri che io e Jeff ci siamo spostati a San Francisco. Questa settimana c'erano i miei genitori che sono venuti da Salt Lake City per una settimana. Ci siamo divertiti molto! Siamo andati a girare d'apertutto! Martedi', siamo andati a wine country (Sonoma e Napa). Siamo andati a penso 5 posti che fanno il vino. Io e la mamma abbiamo provato del vino in ogni posto! Il papa' guardave e annusava il vino. In un posto, abbiamo assagiato del formaggio buonissimo e lo abbiamo anche comprato! Sembra quasi parmiggiano pero' e' piu' cremoso e poi si puo mangiare la buccia.

We bought some tasty strawberries, tomatoes, and cantaloupe.

Then on Wednesday, we headed to Muir Woods and Palo Alto and wandered around Stanford for a bit. On Thursday, we decided to go to dinner in Sausalito. It was ok, but nothing too great. I remember when I was a kid we went to Sausalito and ate in this wonderful pizzeria but we weren't able to find it. The restaurant we chose was still tasty though. Friday, we went shopping! There are so many fun little stores here in the city and my mom and I (and my dad, of course) had a ton of fun just wandering around. We went over to Tiburon for dinner at a friend's and then headed back into the city. They left on Saturday morning and it was hard to see them go. But we did have a ton of fun while they were here and hopefully they will be back soon! Jeff and his parents are heading home and as of right now are almost home. Their estimated time of arrival is midnight on Sunday so I am looking forward to seeing them come home! I am so excited for Jeff to come home! Have a wonderful week!

Mercoledi' siamo andati a vedere Muir Woods e anche a Palo Alto (perche' c'era piu' caldo). Giovedi' siamo andati a cena a Sausalito che era buono, pero' niente di molto speciale. Venerdi' siamo andati a fare shopping! Ci sono cosi tanti negozzietti qua a San Francisco che noi ci siamo divertiti solo andare a vederli tutti! Sono partiti sabato mattina e spero che tornerano presto! Jeff adesso sta venendo verso casa, e' previsto a mezzanotte domenica, e non vedo l'ora di vederli! Buona settimana!
