Santa Barbara e' sempre stato un posto di cui volevo visitare. Allora, dopo averne parlato con la mia amica Liz che abita a Napa, abbiamo deciso di andare per un long weekend.

We started our trip by going to Brophy Brothers for dinner. The clam chowder and crab cakes were amazing!
Abbiamo cominciato la nostra vacanza andando a mangiare da Brophy Brothers. Io ho preso una clam chowder e delle crab cakes che erano buonissime!
Then, while at dinner, we saw loads of things getting dumped into trucks. We didn't know what they were. So we went to inspect. Turns out, Santa Barbara supplies sea urchin to the entire United States.
In tanto che stavamo mangiando, abbiamo visto tante cose che stavano cadendo nei camion. Non avevamo idea di cosa fossero'. Allora siamo andate a vedere. Apparentemente, Santa Barbara ha tantissimi ricci di mare che li spediscono negli Stati Uniti.

On Friday, we spent the day in the darling town of Los Olivos wine tasting. My favorite wine was one that tasted peppery from Presqu'ile. It was so good and so different! We opened a bottle that night and drank it on the balcony while munching on crackers, brie, and salami.
Venerdi', siamo andate a Los Olivos per fare delle degustazioni dei vini. Il mio vino preferito era uno che sapeva un po' di pepperone. Era molto buono e molto diverso! Abbiamo aperto una bottiglia quella sera e l'abbiamo bevuta in tanto che mangiavamo dei cracker con il brie e salame.

On Saturday, we moseyed on the beach, went to the Farmer's Market, walked along State Street, headed to the Fisherman's Festival, and then realized that we were wiped out (because we're getting old) so crashed in the hotel in the afternoon.
Sabato siamo andate al mare, al mercato, a fare un po' di shopping, alla fiera dei pescatori, e poi ci siamo accorte che eravamo stravolte (visto che siamo vecchie) allora abbiamo passato il pomeriggio in camera a riposarci.

Never fear, we rallied(ish)! We were dying to try this Cajun restaurant so that was where we headed on Saturday night, The Palace Grill. Everyone that goes to Santa Barbara HAS to try it. Seriously. Amazing. They even have sing-alongs. What could be better than that?
Non procupatevi, poi ci siamo svegliate e siamo andate fuori sabato sera! Volevamo provare questo ristorante Cajun (roba tipica della Louisiana). Era cosi buono!!! Tutti che vanno a Santa Barbara ci devono assolutamente andare! E poi, cantano anche le canzoni!

On Sunday, we brunched at the hotel and then saw the Porsche show that was happening on the grounds of the hotel. But then we had to leave, so sad.
Domenica abbiamo fatto il brunch in albergo e poi c'era una specie di fiera con le Porsche fuori l'albergo. Pero', poi dovevamo andare. Che tristeza!
Luckily, on my way home, I met up with my friend Amy who lives in LA and we had an amazing lunch at the Filling Station. I had a sandwich with bacon, arugula, tomatoes, and aioli that was so yummy!
Nel tornare a casa, io mi sono fermata a Los Angeles per trovarmi con la mia amica Amy. Siamo andate a mangiare e io ho preso un panino con il bacon, l'arucola, pomodori, e una salsina a base di maionese. Era molto buono!
And that was my weekend. Now, back to the reality of school and PACT.
E quello era il mio weekend. Adesso, sono tornata nel mondo di scuola.
