Una della cose belle essendo sul calendario scolastico sono i weekend di quattro giorni (per le feste). Questa volta era President's Day e io avevo 4 giorni di vacanza.
I started my weekend in Coronado just admiring the scenery and taking pictures. The second I stepped onto the beach, my camera died. And I forgot my extra battery! It was still perfect admiring the sun, water, and sand.
Ho cominciato il mio weekend al Coronado guardandomi da'pertutto facendo le foto. Quando ho messo piede nella sabbia, la macchina fotografica e' morta! E mi ero anche scordata la batteria di scorta! Era comunque bello essendo al mare.

On Sunday, Jennifer invited me to lunch in Del Mar. We had a great lunch and then I took a ton of pictures as I walked back to my car.
Domenica, la Jennifer mi ha invitato a pranzo a Del Mar (appena a nord di San Diego). Abbiamo mangiato molto bene e poi io ho fatto tantissime foto in tanto che tornavo alla macchina.
Finally, a new Italian restaurant opened literally around the corner from me. Now, being Italian, I am always hesitant because I feel that many "Italian" restaurants are not authentic. This one, Buona Forchetta, is pretty amazing. The owner is from Bergamo (up north, by Milan), and the food is quite delicious. I've made it a point to go there multiple times throughout the week for pizza.
Finalmente, hanno aperto un nuovo ristorante Italiano proprio dietro casa mia. Essendo Italiana, mi vengono i dubi quando un ristorante e' "Italiano" perche' di solito non sono molto buoni. Pero', Buona Forchetta, e' molto buona! Il tizio che lo gestisce, e' di Bergamo (!) e' fa da mangiare molto bene! Io cerco d'andarci un paio di volte alla settimana per la pizza.

I've also been going to the Little Italy Farmer's Market every Saturday. They have amazing things that are so good! My favorites have been the berries, clementines, and salad. They just started having strawberries too and they are going to be so good this year! Nothing beats fresh fruit and salad!
Cerco di andare al mercato ogni sabato nella zona Italiana. Hanno cose molto buone e di stagione! Io prendo sempre i mirtilli, clementini, e insalata. Hanno appena cominciato ad avere le fragole - saranno molto dolce quest'anno! Non potro' piu' prendere queste cose al supermercato!
