Seward

Monday, September 19, 2016
The final portion of our trip began once we docked in Seward. We got off the ship and headed to our final excursion which was a boat tour of the Prince William Sound Glacier.

Our first stop was the Harding Glacier.
La prima fermata era il Harding Glacier.

I loved all the waterfalls on the way to the Prince William Sound Glacier.
Mi piacevono molto tutte le cascate.

Glacier! It was raining/hailing/sleeting/freezing/windy.
C'era molto vento/freddo/pioveva.

They did a similar thing where they also grabbed a piece of the iceberg. But here, they made margaritas with it. Yum!

Hubbard Glacier

Once we left Skagway, we made our way to the Hubbard Glacier.

As we arrived closer and closer, you began to see pieces of ice in the water. The temperature dropped significantly and the water seemed almost like slush.

No early morning viewing is complete without a mimosa!

The ship sends out a crew to bring back a piece of the iceberg. This was the little boat they used.

Skagway

After we left Juneau, we went to Skagway. I think this was my favorite town.
Dopo Juneau, siamo andati nord per Skagway. Questa era la mia citta' preferita!

When you dock, there are all these painted rocks. Story goes that the first time a ship comes to Skagway, they send a crew to go and paint a rock with the ship's name, captain's name, and date. The higher up the rock, the more respect the crew has for the captain.

This was on the rocks below the walkway. They have crazy tides that change about 20 feet.

We did the mushing experience where we got to ride on a sled pulled by dogs. These dogs are in summer training and we help provide them with strength training. It was pretty cool especially because our guide was training for the Iditarod.

Our car ride!

Right below is where Jack London mentioned in his book, Call of the Wild

Our fun tour guide Kevin!

We got to hear from a Jr. Iditarod champion, Denver Kay Evans.

And then we got to hold puppies!
