Rome

I spent the weekend in Rome and it was amazing! I had such a great time visiting our family friends that it made me want to go back again. On Friday, I walked around by myself, which was great because I was able to go at my own pace. I started off in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City which was only a 5 minute walk from our friends' apartment. From there, I saw the Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Spagna. I spent the afternoon inside the Vatican visiting the museums and the Sistine Chapel. Everything was so beautiful even despite the rain. The Fontana di Trevi is one of my favorite places in Rome because I love fountains and it was just so cool. On Saturday, I went around with Silvia and we saw Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, and Trastevere. Campo dei Fiori was so beautiful with all of its flower stands which were all selling mimosas because Saturday was La Festa delle Donne (woman's day). That afternoon, Andrea took me around Rome on his motorcycle. It was great seeing Rome from a Roman on a bike! We saw the Colosseum, Piazza del Popolo, Campidoglio, and Piazza Venezia. The Colosseum is always worth seeing, but it was nice to be able to ride around it without having to deal with the crowds. Today (Sunday) we went to the beach near Rome called Maccarese because they have a house there and we went and ate lunch there. It was so pretty! I love the beach and it was fun walking in the sand. It started raining but it didn't last too long so we were able to enjoy the warm weather. I had such a great time in Rome that I can't wait to go back and see everything that I missed!

Questo fine settimana lo passato a Roma visitando dei amici di famiglia. Venerdi', sono andata in giro da sola pero' mi e' piacuto perche potevo fare tutto quello che volevo senza avere fretta. Sono andata a vedere Piazza San Pietro (nel Vaticano), la Fontana di Trevi, e Piazza Spagna. Quel pomerriggio lo passato vedendo i musei Vaticani e la Cappelle Sistina. Mi sono goduta tutto anche se pioveva. Sabato sono andata in giro con Silvia e siamo andate a vedere Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, e Trastevere. Campo dei Fiori mi e' piacuto molto perche aveva tante mimosa perche Sabato era la festa delle donne dove si regala una mimosa a le donne. Sabato pomerriggio sono andata per Roma con Andrea sulla sua moto. Siamo andati a vedere il Collosseo, Piazza del Popolo, i Campidoglio, e Piazza Venezia. Mi sono goduta molto la giornata perche c'era bello ma anche perche era bello andare in giro per Roma con dei Romani. Oggi lo passata al mare vicino a Roma- Maccarese. Anche se pioveva un po', c'era anche tanto solo e abbiamo goduto il tempo. Mi sono divertita cosi tanto a Roma che non vedo l'ora di tornarci!
