Jeff's Graduation

Jeff graduated from USC on May 15 and I was lucky enough to go and see the graduation. I got to LA about one week before he graduated and so we spent a week going to various beaches near Los Angeles - Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, and El Matador (in Malibu). El Matador beach was absolutely gorgeous, except for the weather which was overcast. However, the beach is in this fairly secluded area which was nice because there were maybe three other people besides us. Newport beach was everything I could imagine. I loved it! The water was pretty clear (even though it was freezing), and the weather was perfect! We had a snack at the Newport beach grill of nachos, and I don't think I have ever had nachos that good! They were so delicious! One night, we also went to the Santa Monica pier and rode on the ferris wheel and ate at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for dinner. It was so much fun! Jeff's parents, brothers, and grandmother all flew in for his graduation. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke at his graduation and he did a very good job. On a side note, he really isn't as tall as he seems. He walked right in front of Mike (Jeff's older brother) and I as we were walking to find seats, and were amazed at how little he looks. The night that Jeff graduated, we all flew up to San Francisco to sail for the weekend. Jeff and I slept on the sail boat, which was very interesting but fun at the same time. I got to drive the boat for a little bit which was very intense because the boat was completely keeled over (on its side) and I thought we were going to tip over. Luckily we didn't! The weather was absolutely gorgeous the entire time we were in San Francisco - highs above 90 degrees F (32 degrees C) and sunny with not a cloud in sight! After our sunny sailing weekend, Jeff and I headed back to LA where we packed up his room and drove home to Salt Lake. The drive was uneventful and we didn't hit traffic too bad, which was nice. This summer (and possibly beyond), Jeff will be working in San Francisco with the Global Health Sciences Center and I will be working at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center as the tour coordinator. Both of us are very excited about our jobs and I'm excited to be going to San Francisco to visit Jeff!!
Jeff si è laureato da USC il 15 maggio ed ero fortunata di andare e vedere la celebrazione. Sono arrivata a Los Angeles una settimana prima che si è laureato e così abbiamo speso una settimana andando a varie spiaggie vicino a Los Angeles - Santa Monica, la Spiaggia di Manhattan, la Spiaggia di Newport, ed El Matador (in Malibu). El Matador era assolutamente magnifica, eccetto per il tempo che era scuro. Comunque, la spiaggia è in quest'area isolata che era piacevole perché c'erano forse tre altre persone oltre a noi. La spiaggia di Newport era stupenda! L'acqua era bella chiarisce (anche se era fredda gelida), ed il tempo era perfetto! Abbiamo avuto uno spuntino alla griglia di spiaggia di Newport di nacho, e non penso che io mai abbia avuto i nacho ciò buono! Erano così deliziosi! Una notte, siamo andati anche alla banchina di Monica di Santa ed abbiamo passeggiato sulle giostre ed abbiamo mangiato dal Bubba Gump Shrip Co. per la cena. I genitori del Jeff, i fratelli, e sua nonna sono arrivati la sera prima della graduazione di Jeff. Arnold Schwarzenegger ha parlato alla sua graduazione e ha fatto un molto buono lavoro. La notte che Jeff è laureato, siamo andati a San Francisco per il fine settimana. Io e Jeff abbiamo dormito sulla barca vela. Ho potuto guidare la barca per un po'che era molto intenso perché la barca era completamente il keeled sopra (sul suo lato) e ho pensato intendevamo rovesciare. Fortunatamente abbiamo non si e cappovolta! Il tempo era assolutamente magnifico il tempo intero che eravamo in San Francisco - temperature al di sopra di 90 gradi F (32 gradi C) e non c'erano nuvole in vista! Dopo il nostro weeekend a San Francisco, io e Jeff siamo tornati a LA dove abbiamo imballato la sua stanza ed abbiamo guidato a casa a Salt Lake. La spinta era tranquilla e non abbiamo colpito il traffico troppo cattivo, che era piacevole. Quest'estate (e forse più oltre), Jeff lavorerà in San Francisco con le Scienze di Salute Globali Concentra e lavorerò al Centro di Salt Lake City di Hilton come il coordinatore di giro. Entrambi ci siamo molto eccitati dei nostri lavori e sono eccitato per andare a San Francisco di visitare Jeff!!
