May 10 - 16, 2010 | La Vita Giulia

Not a terribly exciting week, but I shall post regardless! We flew home from SLC on Sunday night which meant that Monday was spent grocery shopping, picking up packages from UPS, doing laundry, and cleaning. Oh what fun! Tuesday I noticed that the zinnias I had planted from little seeds were starting to sprout so I was happy about that! We then went out and about in Union Square where somehow, we ended up at Crate and Barrel. I found a wonderful new toy in a coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker and bought it without a second thought! This heavenly DeLonghi machine is amazing. It brews drip coffee (can program to auto make in the morning), makes espresso (almost as good as a bar in Italy), and steams/froths milk for lattes and cappuccinos. Jeff and I are in heaven! Definitely a worthwhile investment even though my counter space is now significantly less. Friday, Jeff took the day off and we went on a long walk down Union Street, Chestnut street, along the water and the Marina, over to Ghirardelli Square and then took the Cable Car home. It was nice to be outside even if the weather was a little gloomy. We then went sailing yesterday and even though it was cloudy and overcast, both of us still managed to turn our faces into tomatoes. Now it's back to work and errands for the week! Simone comes to visit next week and I am excited to show him about the town! Have a great week!

Non era una settimana molto notevole, pero' scrivero' lo stesso! Martedi' ho notato che dei fiori che avevo piantato stavano cominciando di crescere ed ero molto sodisfatta! Quella stessa sera, io e Jeff siamo andati a fare un giro a Union Square dove io mi sono trovata un nuovo giochino! Mi sono presa una macchinetta del caffe che fa il caffe americano, l'espresso, e anche i cappuccini! E lo fa' anche buono! (O magari sono io che lo fa buono!) Per iul caffe americano, si puo programmare che lo fa automaticamente al mattino. Che bello svegliarmi con l'odore del caffe! Io e Jeff siamo molto contenti della nostra macchinetta nuova! Venerdi', Jeff si e' preso un giorno di ferie e siamo andati a fare una passeggiata lungo la citta'. Anche se c'erano delle nuvole, e stata una passeggiate molto piacevole! Ieri siamo andati in barca vela e ci siamo divertiti. Io prendo ancora un po' di paura quando si va molto veloce e anche quando c'e' la barca quasi nell'acqua, pero' mi sento sempre molto sicura! Ci siamo divertiti molto! La prossima settimana, Simone mi viene a trovare e sono contenta di vederlo e di fargli vedere la citta'! Buona settimana!
