Italy, Part Two

Thursday, November 11, 2010
And now, for the final recap of Italia! When asked how my trip was, I reply, "Delicious!" All I did for 8 days was eat. I ate torta fritta, tortelli, pasta, foccacia, torta salata, prosciutto, and pizza. I just kept eating! The bummer, was that the weather didn't cooperate, and it was pretty foggy and rainy. However, that did not stop me from sightseeing and having a great time!
Allora, l'Italia e' stata buonissima! (Grazie Novi!!!)

No trip to Parma is complete without a visit to one of my favorite parks, il Parco Ducale. It is so pretty and it was especially pretty at this time of year when all of the leaves are changing colors and there are all these beautiful landscapes!

So Pretty!

Another must when I go to Parma is eating torta fritta. I don't even know how to describe it other than being flaky and fried dough that is eaten with salame, prosciutto, mortadella, spallacotta, etc. Honestly, I could eat it every day and still want more! It's super yummy!

Simple, yet delicious menu

My aunt and uncle were kind enough to take me to Mantova one day in search of a suitcase. Mantova has outlets that are great! However, I was not able to find the suitcase that I wanted there, but we were still able to walk around and see the town. I had never been, and I loved it! The town has a lake on its border which was very peaceful. Also, the opera Rigoletto is based upon a house in Mantova. It was a fun little excursion, and don't worry, I was able to find the suitcase I wanted back in Parma!

If only I had left with bags...

That's about it for my trip, hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Best parmesan and prosciutto ever.

Yummy treats!

There's this great service where you go to a station like
this and fill up water bottles. There is even bubbly water! So neat!

Everything that (miraculously) fit into my suitcase
