Vermont

Picture overload! My friend Lila got married this past weekend in Burlington, Vermont. I'd never been to Vermont and was very excited to go. Thankfully, having gone home for Thanksgiving, I was able to bring some of my warmer clothes. It was definitely not warm in Vermont!
Tante foto!

Waiting in Newark to board for Burlington

After my red-eye from San Diego, I made it to Burlington. I met up with Lila and her husband-to-be Tyler, and some other Hilton friends. One of them, Jeanette, graciously let me tag along with her and her lovely mother Mary as they explored. Our first stop was the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. Here, we toured the factory, saw how the bears are made (all there!), and wandered through the shop.

I did not know this story about Teddy Roosevelt,
whom teddy bears are named after.

Cookie cutters are used to cut the fabric into the
correct shapes/sizes.

You can send in a costume/fabric/pattern and
they will make the outfit for your bear.

There's even a hospital for injured bears!

After the teddy bears, we headed towards Ben and Jerry's. Some might say it was too cold for ice cream, but I say never! It was a very cool tour and very fun to see the inside of the factory and hear how they make their ice cream (no pics allowed inside).

We got to sample a flavor that only those on the tour get.
It was delicious!

That night, we headed to Church Street in Downtown Burlington.

Fun and tasty local beers

Saturday was a rainy day, so we started our morning at the farmer's market. There were many vendors selling fruits, vegetables, breads, syrups, and liquors. Most of them were quite tasty!
C'erano tanti banchi che vendevono frutta, verdure, dolci, e liquori. Alcuni erano anche buoni!

Yummy maple syrup!

This is a liquor (100 proof) made with maple syrup.
It was very delicious.

After the market, we walked around Downtown some, and then headed towards Magic Hat Brewery. We toured the brewery for free and sampled their beer. The beer was good, and it was fun sampling new beers!

This is the beer grave where beers that they no longer
make are mourned.

That night, we made s'mores by the fire in the hotel!

Sunday was wedding day! A bus came and picked us up from the hotel and drove us up to the Sleepy Hollow Inn for the wedding. Some pics may be blurry because they were taken from a moving bus.

Hilton gals!

Pretty scenery on the drive up

The last few miles up to the Inn were like this.
I was happy I wasn't driving!

Where the wedding took place

So cold, but such a pretty venue!

Hilton gals! We all know each other from working at the Hilton

Gorgeous bridge and groom!

Bonfire after for more s'mores!

Before leaving on Monday, I headed towards Lake Champlain with Steve and Arnold (other Hilton friends). While the scenery and views were gorgeous, it was quite chilly and windy!

After the lake, we did a driving tour of the University of Vermont. It has gorgeous buildings!

No driving tour is complete without houses!
Non potevamo girare senza vedere delle case!

The darling Burlington International Airport (they fly to Canada) had these picturesque rocking chairs. I couldn't pass up the opportunity!
L'aereoporto aveva queste sedie stupende! Dovevo fare la foto!

It was a great weekend visiting with old friends and making new friends in a gorgeous place. I would love to go back in the fall when all of the leaves are changing colors!
