Fall Break! My favorite perk of being a teacher in a year-round school. Two weeks off at the end of September. Best time to travel. Luckily for me, it coincided with the wedding of some friends in DC. Even more lucky, my good friend Hannah was also going so we turned it into a Girl's Weekend!

We headed into DC from Baltimore and met up with Jay and Laura for dinner.

Besties since 3rd grade!

After dinner, thanks to jet lag, we were wide awake. We strolled around and ended up at the White House. Then we went to POV which is the bar at the top of the W right around the corner from the White House.

Not a terrible view

The next morning, we woke up and started roaming DC. Hannah had never been, so we saw all the things, mostly on foot. Not only were we on foot, but it was weirdly hot while we were there. We were beat at the end of the day!

Lincoln Memorial

Washington Monument

Smithsonian!

We headed to lunch at Central Michel Richard and it did not disappoint. They were known for their fried chicken so we shared some and it was pretty delish.

After lunch, we headed to Georgetown. I'd never been there, so it was fun to explore all the cute shops and see the pretty row homes.
Dopo pranzo, siamo andate a Georgetown.

For dinner, we met up with some other friends of mine that live in DC. We strolled through Chinatown, so had to take a pic!

LOVE HER.

Hannah and I had heard about a small street that had all the umbrellas, so we checked it out after dinner. Jet lag worked in our favor at night on this trip for sure. This was perfect because we went around 11:30pm, so there was hardly anyone there!

Friday was our final day in DC and it was also the day before the vote on Kavanaugh was happening. We headed over towards the Supreme Court to check out what was going on. It was pretty cool to be a small part of history.

We wanted more seafood and found Luke's Lobster. While there are many of them, it was definitely worth it. We shared a roll and some chowder (it was chilly that day) and then headed back to the hotel to grab the car.
Volevamo altro pesce e abbiamo trovato Luke's Lobster.

Heading over the bridge to Easton, Maryland
