September 2023 - Napa

For Fall Break, we found a great deal on flights to Santa Rosa and decided to spend a long weekend in Napa. It was the BEST time of year - perfect weather, not too crowded, leaves were changing, and grapes were heavy on the vines. 

Per Fall Break, abbiamo trovato un'offerta buona per andare a Napa per un weekend lungo. Era la stagione perfetta - ne caldo ne freddo, non c'era molta gente, le foglie stavano cambiando, e l'uva era bella piena.

January 2021

Since February is almost over, figured I should blog about January. 😝

Visto che febbraio e quasi finito, ho deciso che magari devo scrivere un po' di gennaio. 😝

We started off 2021 with a wine tasting/pairing with Garage Buona Forchetta. We tried three wines from Ciu' Ciu' and they were paired with food from Buona Forchetta. It was fun to drink some different wines and talk about the wine making process with Petra (the wine rep).

Abbiamo cominciato 2021 facendo una degustazione di vini Ciu' Ciu'. C'erano tre vini - uno bianco e due rossi - che abbiamo bevuto. Con I vini, c'era anche un piatto di Buona Forchetta. Tutto molto buono! A me piace fare queste degustazioni perche' assaggi dei vini che non avrei scelto da sola. 

January continued with nice and mild San Diego weather. I am still working from home and trying to walk at least 3 miles every day which has been the best thing for my sanity. Andy and I spend a lot of time at home reading, cooking, and imagining all the different places we want to travel to when we can. 

Il resto del mese c'era un tempo molto bello a San Diego. Io sto ancora lavorando da casa e cerco di camminare almeno 3 miglia al giorno, che mi rilassa molto. Io e Andy passiamo il tempo a casa a leggere, fare da mangiare (e da bere), e immaginando tutti I posti che vogliamo visitare quando si puo'!

La Bandina :: 2018

One evening, with my cousin, aunt, and uncle, we went to Torrechiara to visit some vineyards and have an apperitivo. The views were spectacular.
Una sera, con la Novella e gli zii, siamo andati dietro Torrechiara per bere del vino e fare un apperitivo.

The first place was La Bandina which makes wines that are typical of the region.
Il primo posto era La Bandina che fa vini tipici di Parma.

The second place we went was Cantine Dall'Asta which has a beautiful view of the Castello di Torrechiara.
Il secondo posto era le Cantine Dall'Asta che hanno una vista sul castello che non e' male.
