Made it to San Diego!!!

I made it to San Diego! I'm all settled into my new room and am loving it. The location of my apartment is perfect - I'm super close to everything! Yesterday, I went to Coronado (see post below) and it took me 10 minutes, I was in heaven! I start student teaching in a kindergarten class next week and then my last set of USC classes start on September 17 - I can't believe I'm almost done with my program! I'm excited to see what this fall will bring and can't wait to get back in the classroom!!
Sono arrivata a San Diego! Sono tutta messa aposto nella mia camera nuova e mi piace molto. La posizione del apartamento e' perfetto - sono vicinissima a tutto! Ieri sono andata a Coronado e ci ho messo solo 10 minuti, che bello! Comincio l'ultima parte del mio tirocinio lunedi' e poi le mie classi cominciano il 17 - non ci credo che ho gia' quasi finito con il mio programma. Non vedo l'ora di tornare a scuola!

Pasadena!

We’ve moved! We are now officially Pasadenians (aka we live in Pasadena). The move went really well. We rented a Penske truck and it fit all of our things from San Francisco and then some! We stopped in Bakersfiled one night (there’s nothing there, seriously, nothing) where Google had us do this awesome detour (probably the only time Google failed) for no reason at all.

Ci siamo spostati! Siamo officialmente residenti di Pasadena! Il trasloco e’ andato molto bene. Abbiamo nollegiato un camion e c’e’ stato tutto! Ci siamo fermati una sera a Bakersfiled (dove non c’e’ niente, ma niente niente!) e Google ci ha fatto fare un bel giro che non abbiamo capito molto.

We headed back out in the morning and made fabulous time into Pasadena. So far, we love the new apartment. It is much larger than our old apartment and we even have a balcony where I have already managed to kill hydrangea and basil plants despite my constant watering. Oh well. These are some of the before/after pictures. I didn't take too many, but you get the idea!

Siamo poi partiti nel mattino e siamo arrivati abastanza presto a Pasadena. Ci piace molto il nostro appartamento nuovo. E’ molto piu’ grande di quello di San Francisco e abbiamo anche un balcone. Pero’ ho gia’ ucciso due piante. Amen. Queste sono le foto prima/dopo. Non ne ho molte, pero' si vede piu' o meno tutto.

Yay for having an actual barbecue!

My parents and brother were nice enough to come and help up move in. They definitely helped make the place look like home only 2 days after moving in! We could not have done it without them! Simone stayed an extra day and we took him to the beach since he had never been to LA before.

I miei genitori e fratello sono stati genitili a venire a aiutarci a mettere tutto a posto nel nuovo apartamento. Senza di loro sicuramente non c'e' l'avremmo fatto! Simone e' stato con noi in giorno in piu' e l'abbiamo portato al mare visto che non era mai stato a Los Angeles!

We live in a really great location because we are super close to just about everything in Pasadena. It’s been a lot of fun riding my awesome new bike around the town and checking it out. Can’t wait to share all of our adventures!

La zona e’ molto bella perche’ possiamo andare a piedi d’apertutto! Io vado in giro con la mia bicicletta nuova che mi piace molto. Adesso quando torno (sono a San Francisco) faro’ delle foto della citta’ cosi vedete come’ carina la zona!

Jeff and I also made dinner! Mashed potatoes, tri-tip steak with an AMAZING dry rub, and corn on the cob.

We made it! Jeff and I arrived in Pasadena last Saturday morning and everything is going great so far! I will blog a full post later (internet is a bit of an issue currently), but just wanted to share that we made it, love our new apartment, and can't wait to start this new adventure! Check back at the beginning of next week for the real post!
