Mother's Day 2015

On my mom's way home from a work trip to Tampa, she stopped by San Diego for a few days. Conveniently, it happened to be Mother's Day weekend. She arrived on Friday night and we went straight to dinner at Puesto at the Headquarters. In the rain. On Saturday, we went out shopping all day and had a blast! Saturday night, we made a delicious dinner and watched a movie. Sunday was the main event. Along with Noel's parents and Brian's parents, we went to Buona Forchetta for Mother's Day Lunch. We had such a great time! It was so special having my mom in town on Mother's Day! Love you mom!
Sulla via di casa dopo Tampa, mia mamma si e' fermata a San Diego per due giorni. Era il weekend della festa della mamma. Quando e' arrivata venerdi' sera, siamo andate a mangiare in un ristorante sotto l'acqua! Siamo stati molto bene, anche se pioveva. Sabato siamo andate a fare shopping e abbiamo trovato tante cose belle. Sabato sera, siamo tornate a casa e abbiamo fatto da mangiare e poi abbiamo guardato un film. Domenica era il giorno del divertimento. Con la Noel e i suoi genitori e Brian e i suoi genitori, siamo andati a pranzo da Buona Forchetta. Ci siamo divertiti molto! Era cosi' bello avere mia mamma a San Diego per celebrare con lei!

PACT-ness

PACT has been submitted and I am that much closer to being done with my master's!!! Woot-woot! PACT is required by both USC and the state of California for my teaching credential. It was an enormous task and I'm quite happy to be done with that.
La mia specie di tesi e consegnata e ho ancora un mese e poi avro' finito con il mio masters! La mia tesi si chiama PACT ed e necessaria per lo stato di California e il mio programma. Era una cosa abastanza pesante e sono molto contenta di averla consegnata!

On a lighter note, how about them Giants? Up 2-0 against the Tigers in the World Series, pretty awesome. I think it comes to no surprise that it's all because of me. Think about it: in 2010, the Giants won the World Series for the first time in ages and I was living in California. In 2011, I was living in SLC, and the Giants didn't really have an exemplary season. Fast forward to right now, Giants in the World Series. Just saying........GO GIANTS!!!!
I Giants di San Francisco sono nella World Series! Adesso sono avanti 2 partite a zero. Io penso che si solo perche' io sono tornata in California. Hanno vinto la World Series due anni fa (quando abitavo in California). L'anno scorso non sono venuti manco vicini. E poi, quest'anno, ci sono ancora, ed io abito in California. Allora io penso che stanno vincendo solo perche' ci sono io. Go Giants!!!

What have I been up to?

It's been a somewhat busy two weeks post-Italy. Between studying for two upcoming tests and nannying, my days go by fast! But, here are a few pics of some things I've done lately. This weekend, I'm off to San Diego with the 'rents to find a place to live (I have my eye set on a bungalow!). Enjoy your weekend!

Crawfish and Comedy

This weekend I went to a comedy club with my friends Hannah and Mattie. We started the night at Buckets O Crawfish in West Valley (new thing). It was pretty tasty and fun to eat with our hands! Then, we headed a block away to WiseGuys to see/hear Harland Williams (he was the cop in Dumb and Dumber) who was hilarious (new thing)! Seriously, our jaws hurt so bad as we left because we were laughing so hard. The weekend was a nice break from school and a great girl's night!
Questo weekend sono andata in un posto a sentire uno che fa il comico con due delle mie amiche. Abbiamo cominciato la sera mangiando i crawfish. Era abastanza buono e ci siamo divertite mangiare con le mani. Poi, siamo andati una strada in la a sentire Harland Williams che era buffo da dio! Davvero, quando siamo uscite, ci faceva male la bocca perche' avevamo riso cosi' tanto! Era un bel weekend e mi sono divertita passare del tempo con le mie amiche!

Past Few Days

I've been busy recently with school and all that jazz. But, somehow, someway, I did manage to find some time to do some fun things.
Sono stata un po' impegnata con la scuola, pero', non so come, ho comunque trovato del tempo di fare un paio di cose divertente.

I'm a dork and I have some pretty cool stamps from back in the day (remember when you had to lick stamps?). I was keeping them in a not so neat way so I decided to amp it up and make it a little neater. I used Zots, which are just fabulous, and I think it turned out pretty cool. I keep them in a binder I have with postcards I have received (read: send me postcards!). It's nothing exciting, but I like it and it's fun to look at all the postcards I have.
Io ho tanti francobolli da tanto tempo fa (da quando si dovevano leccare!). Io non gli stavo tenendo in un posto molto sicuro allora ho deciso di cambiare e metterli un po' in ordine. Io penso che sia venuto molto bene. Io ho un posto dove tengo tante/tutte le cartoline che ho preso o che mi sono state mandare. Non e' niente di che, pero' a me piace avere un posto per tenere tutto.

Finally, I went skiing with my dad on Sunday. It was somewhat chilly, but a gorgeous day! And, even though it hadn't snowed in a while, the snow wasn't terrible. Gotta get my money's worth outta my pass!
Finalmente, sono andata a sciare con mio papa' domenica. Era un po' freddo, pero' una giornata bellissima! Anche se era un po' di tempo che non nevicava, la neve non era neanche male. Devo sfruttare il mio pass!

I'm Determined to be Optimistic

I've been watching a lot of Grey's Anatomy lately. Not sure the reason why, I've always liked the show and decided to re-watch the entire series from the beginning (thank you Netflix). I think there is some truth to the show, but also realize that much of it is exaggerated. There was a quote that Meredith said in a recent episode that really struck me. The quote was, "I'm determined to be optimistic." I love it. I try to be happy and put on a smiling face all the time. Somedays it works better than others at masking how I truly feel. But, no matter what, I'm optimistic. I have a HUGE test on Monday. The CBEST. It's one of the CA Credentialing tests I have to take for my masters program. I am scared out of my mind and super nervous. I hate tests and am not a good test taker. I've been studying somewhat, I get super distracted. But I have been studying (actually opened the Kaplan book and am slowly working through it). I'm optimistic that I will do well because the test is for something that I truly care about - teaching. I'm optimistic that 2012 will be happier and better than this later part of 2011. It's hard for me to see it sometimes, but deep down, I know things will be better. It's all about outlook. I wouldn't always consider myself a glass half-full kind of person, but for the most part, I am. It helps. Just think positive. Look on the bright side of things. I'm determined to be optimistic. 


Ho guardato molta Grey's Anatomy ultimamente. Non so perche'. Mi e' sempre piactuto e' ho deciso di guardare la serie dal inizio. So che ci sono un po' di cose che non sono vere, ed altre cose che le sono. Una frase che mi ha colpito era, "Sono determinata a essere ottimista." Mi piace molto. Io cercho di sempre essere di buon umore. Certamente che ci sono dei giorni in cui e' piu' facile. Pero', cercho di essere contenta. Io ho un esame ENORME lunedi'. E' un esame che devo fare per essere maestra. Non e' molto dificile, pero' devo studiare. Io non sono mai stata una che e' brava a fare l'esami. Non mi piacciono. Pero', per questo, sto studiando (lentamente, sono molto distratta!), ho anche aperto il libro del esame per studiare (di solito rimane chiuso). Voglio fare bene questo esame. Mi serve. Se non lo faccio bene, lo dovro' rifare. E non voglio. Pero', vedo il bicchiere mezzo pieno e so che tutto andra' bene. So che il 2012 sara' meglio che non questa ultima parte del 2011. Non e' sempre facile a vedere le cose belle, pero' io ci provo. Devo provarci. Devo sperare che tutto andra' meglio. Sono determinata a essere ottimista.

Utah Swimming

Last weekend, my roomie from college Cady was nice enough to come to the Utah Swim meet. The girls were swimming Washington and it was a great meet! The Utes won so we were all happy! It was fun to be at a meet again and made me think about when I used to coach.

La settimana scorsa, sono andata a uno swim meet alla U con la mia amica Cady. Ci siamo divertite molto e le donne hanno vinto! Era bello essere a un meet dopo tanto che non c'andavo, mi ricordava quando facevo l'allenatrice.
